Growing Up With Bill Cosby

    I remember growing up without television, we would gather around a phonograph and listen to Bill Cosby. He would make us laugh as he spun his yarns of growing up. He would talk about things that even us kids could relate to like street football, siblings, tennis shoes, and parents.

    You might think that my skin is a little dark, but I'm about as white as you can be. Not only that but I grew up in a town, that was once the KKK stonghold in California. My parents and I didn't care, Bill was just funny.

    I was raised in church, and thought I already knew the story of Noah, until I heard Bill bring it to life. I loved westerns and thought I knew it all, when it came to the Little Bighorn, until Bill told me about how it was decided bny a coin flip.

    His stories about scary radio shows and spreading jello all over the floor, to keep the bad guys out. Bill's stories of jumping on the bed, sliding on icee roads, and explaining why there is air.

    I know my life was made better, because one very funny man, came into it with with humor that even a kid could listen to.

    Thank You Mister,  Bill Cosby, for helping my family and I not miss television. For enriching all of our lives, and making us look at things a bit differently.
